About “D”
A little about me. Born October 4, 1967 in Calgary, AB, 4th in a family of 5 kids. This is where I resided basically until I was about 9 years old. Moved to Campbell River, BC until I was about 20 years of age. Then to Victoria, BC where I fell in love with the charm, essence and magic of this wonderful city. Unforeseen circumstances led me back to Campbell River where I lived until March 2008. I moved back to Victoria finally. It feels like I am home again.
Inbetween this time, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of different fields. Work such as babysitting (I think we all did this when we were younger), waitressing (hard work…I have a lot of respect for wait-staff), janitorial (again hard work), prep cook, photography/photofinishing industry (sales, customer service and supervisory), electronic/computer industry (sales/customer service/management), and finally the numbers game (yes…bean counter/bookkeeper/payroll/tax preparer, etc). So I had a lot of experience dealing with people, service and technology.
With my dad (god rest his soul) and my brother being very interested in electronics, computers and various other activities, I lucked out and benefited from their interests, hobbies and project building. Their interest in technology rubbed off on me. This stayed with me to this day and I love to continue learning about new ideas, software, applications etc. out there, that people can use to make a difference in not only their lives but hopefully the lives of others.
With my final choice of employment, I have had the opportunity to work with financial, payroll and tax software programs plus have had the opportunity to teach or guide others in using various software programs.
The place I wanted to be was here in beautiful Victoria, BC where I now reside. I am working, planning on going back to school to become a fullfledged CGA (Certified General Accountant) and just enjoying what Victoria has to offer me. I also try and take the time to continue to learn about new technology, ideas, etc. to help better my life. Maybe one day it will help me to better the lives of others…more than I could ever imagine or hope for.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site and get to know a little more about me.
